Recognize we can never  be good enough.  "As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one.'" Romans 3:10 (Psalm 14:1 & 53:1)

We can't earn it.  "For it is by grace (un-earned favor) you have been saved, through faith -and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

"Then they asked Him, 'What must we do to do the works God requires?'   Jesus answered, 'The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.' "  John 6:28-29

"I pray that you may have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge." Ephesians 3:17-19
